Have You Grabbed A Blue Yeti Yet?

Maybe you haven’t found the perfect gift yet for the holidays or for an upcoming birthday for that special vocalist in your life.  After all, there are so many choices for gifts one can give their outspoken loved ones; be it great music, a shirt with their favorite band emblazoned on it, concert tickets or even that espresso machine they’ve been raving about.  

So, I’ll tell you what they want, what they really, truly want.  They want a gift that allows them to be heard, so that everyone knows what they want.  What they really want, and need, is a Blue Yeti USB microphone. 

What can I say that isn’t already obvious?  This microphone is amazing!  It has everything all wrapped into one and is professional grade, so if you’re looking for a professional microphone, the Blue Yeti is a great choice.  Not only does this mic have amazing recording abilities, it’s also stylish and easy enough for anyone to use.   My 15-year-old daughter loves this mic and uses it to talk to her various online friends around the world while she’s online gaming with them.  This microphone is so powerful it caught everything I uttered to her from across the room, even though I whispered!  I even tried my hand at recording with this microphone and the quality is astounding!  It is the perfect recording device for anyone who wants to record something, either professionally or just for fun. 

How easy is this microphone to use you ask?  Super easy.  The Blue Yeti comes with a USB cable which plugs directly into your computer and was designed with dials and buttons that are easy enough for anyone to understand.  After setup, it’s all a matter of what you want to use it for.

Instant mute, volume, microphone gain, and headphone volume (for use with Yeti headphone gear) are all there at the touch of a button and that’s not all!  This mic has a Multi Pattern Selector which gives you such options such as Stereo, Cardioid, Omnidirectional and Bidirectional, for ease of use, and can be changed with a quick turn of a dial on the mic itself. Not sure what the difference is between those mic patterns?  No problem!  They are clearly explained in the provided manual.

Handling is also easy and versatile.  You can use the provided base and adjust it any way you desire or you can remove the microphone to mount it to a standard microphone studio mount.  However, always be mindful of the USB cable.  This microphone comes with a lengthy USB cord so that it can be placed almost anywhere and is quite durable, however, it is not impervious to foolishness.  When dusting my Blue Yeti I made a horrible mistake and tried to flip the mic on the stand with a simple adjustment, realizing too late that I had bent the end of the USB that was still inserted and connected to the mic! 

Luckily, I was able to find a replacement USB cable.  But it was some time before I had the USB 2.0 A to mini B cable in hand and by then we were all anxious to get it working again. It was a scary couple of days without my mic and I learned a valuable lesson about being careful with things you love.  When cleaning this beautiful mic be sure to unplug until you’re finished. Otherwise you’ll have to grab a replacement before you can enjoy using your mic again.

Also, check out how cute the manual is that comes with this mic!  The little booklet is so full of cute yeti’s it makes me want to chill out with one.  Imagine how much fun you could have with a yeti during the winter!  Like…playing hide and seek in the snowdrifts, making a mansion-sized igloo and using cars as a bob-sled!  Best of all though you could sing holiday carols together and record them all on this awesome mic!

So there you have it.  My suggestion for the holidays is that you go grab a Yeti Blue microphone while it’s hot!  This mic is a reasonably priced gift for someone who may have inspirations to be the next Oprah, and can kick-start them off on a lifetime hobby or career that they will love.
